It provides access to methods, applications and modern IoT technologies such as a 5G campus network. Trend topics from connectivity and data analytics to the digital twin can be experienced in a practical way.

Robotics Lab

The Robotics Lab is a modern development and transfer infrastructure for the analysis and prototypical implementation of innovative ideas, products and production systems. Here, for example, work can be carried out on the decentralized processing of workpieces or on flexible handling and assembly processes.

Elbfabrik

As an innovation and transfer platform, the Elbfabrik shows how the production of the future can be shaped. Here you can interact with our scientists on an entire customer journey: from co-innovation and co-creation to experience-based learning, production demonstration and production improvement. In the Elbfabrik, the boundaries between virtual product development and real production processes merge.

360° large projection system Elbedome

The Elbedome is used to plan, test and operate technical systems using state-of-the-art VR technologies. In the Elbedome, a mixed-reality laboratory with a 360-degree laser projection screen, interactive 3D visualizations of complex machines, systems, factories and entire production and logistics systems can be created.

Digital technology center "IGCVirtual"

Experience the innovative technologies of the Fraunhofer IGCV - digitally and in one place! In virtual tours, you can find out more about how the Fraunhofer IGCV translates its research into industrial applications and state-of-the-art plant technology in the production environment.

Hydrogen Application Center

The Hydrogen Application Center develops application-related solutions in the field of hydrogen with a maritime focus.  Energy converter test benches up to 10 MW form the centerpiece. Other topics include the development of retrofit concepts for drive systems and the design of hydrogen logistics chains.

Prototype Center

The prototype center combines the expertise of the electrical engineering, microelectronics, additive manufacturing and mechanical manufacturing departments. By using and combining a wide range of modern manufacturing processes, from laser sintering to circuit board production, prototypes can be produced quickly and optimization cycles can be shortened.

Pace Lab

The Pace Lab offers a unique research environment combining high-precision localization and an industrial environment. The lab offers companies from the industrial sector a reference system for testing sensor technology, localization systems, communication systems, mobile robots and drones as well as human-technology interaction.

nICLAS

At the Innovation Center for Laboratory Automation Stuttgart, nICLAS for short, Fraunhofer IPA brings together manufacturers, users and researchers for an interdisciplinary exchange. Together, they develop new technologies for a smart laboratory and the bioproduction of the future.

AI-MATTERS

The Test Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics in Production enables companies to test AI technologies in real-life application scenarios. Novel AI approaches, AI-based software and hardware solutions and products, including robots, can be tested here in realistic production environments.

Production Technology Center (PTZ)

The Production Technology Center (PTZ) Berlin has a total area of 10,000 m². In addition to the central test field with around 3200 m², numerous special laboratories are available. Almost 100 test stands enable practical research and development.

Application Center for Microproduction Technology – AMP

The three AMP laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and measuring technology for high-precision and ultra-precision machining as well as process development. This is where research projects are carried out using the most precise manufacturing processes.

ICNAP

Developing solutions for networked, adaptive production - that is the goal of the ICNAP (International Center for Networked Adaptive Production) community of renowned industrial companies under the leadership of the three Aachen-based Fraunhofer Institutes for Production Technology IPT, for Laser Technology ILT and for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME.

Fuel cell application pilot plant

With an industrial assembly line for PEMFC stacks, assembly and disassembly processes can be developed and tested using full-stack test benches up to 200 kW. Recycling topics include mechanical, thermal and wet-chemical processing. The development and analysis of components for fuel cells are further offerings.
